Hilton Honors | Maximize Your Rewards

We talk about how to get the most out of all your vacations. We're going to talk about the hilton honors program and how you're able to use it to get extraperks and benefits from the Hilton properties. Hilton is one of the largest hotel groups throughout the entire world, with almost 6'500 hotels throughout the world in 19 different countries. Chances are they have a property that's perfect for you on your vacation.

This is why a lot of people stay at the Hilton hotels and Hilton. It does have a really good program called Hilton honors that rewards people for staying at their property and obviously, the more you stay, the moreperks you're eligible for. So we're going to look over the hilton honors program, the different statuses that you're able to achieve, and what benefits come along with it.

We're also going to look at ways that you can earn these elite statuses a lot quicker and a lot easier to help you get the most out of all your stays. There are four different levels to the Hilton honors membership: the higher the member you become, the moreperks that you are able to get on every single stay at any one of the Hilton properties.

These membership levels first is member, then you have silver gold and the top-tier is going to be diamond status. With the Hilton honors program, the first-tier, called Hilton honor member, is awarded just for signing up for the program and you're actually able to receive some benefits with this just for signing up at your very first day. So some of these benefits are going to be free standard internet, no resort fees on reward stays, the ability to request late checkout when booking.

You're able to get it Hilton honors member discount. You're even able to choose your room 24 hours advance. Now you're able to actually earn points at every single stay, based on how much you spend. You're going to earn $5 points per dollar if you're staying in the true or home 2 brands and if you're staying in any of the other properties like the Hilton's, the Waldorf, the Conrad, those more luxury properties you're going to get $10 times bonus points. So the true and the home to brand does it more of like the value type of resort where you're not going to be able to have as many amenities. It's a lower cost per night, and all the other properties that kind of align with the Hilton brand.

The more luxury hotels you have, more amenities you have. You know those executive lounges, restaurants, breakfast, all of those type of things that you typically would find in a, you know, higher luxury resort. You can put a value on these Hilton honors at a little bit over a half a cent for each point. So you're getting about 6 percent back for every single dollar you spend at a Hilton property.

The Next Membership Level Is Silver

The next membership level is silver. Now this is the first one that you're actually going to have to earn. You don't just sign up for to be able to actually get this level of status. So right now, in 2021, because not as many people are traveling, they've reduced the amount that you're actually going to have to earn the status.

Right now, it's either five nights or 12.00-500 base points. That actually has been half from the year prior in 2020, or where you would have to do 10 nights or 25 000 base points now. Once you actually achieve this level now, you would be able to get all the benefits that you would with a membership level, but now you'd be able to get the fifth night free on awards days. Now this is going to be booked solely with points. You would get bonus on the points that you earn, and that's for every single stay. 

You also do get complimentary bottled water at select properties. Now, with that 20 bonus points that you're going to be able to achieve at this level with the silver status, your stays at the Hilton properties are actually going to be up from 10 points to 12 points per dollar, so that's going to give you about a 7 to 7 and a half percent return on all your stays at the Hilton properties.

Now you are able to actually get this status with the Hilton honors U.S. Express card, and that's going have a zero dollar annual fee. But we have another video planned that's going to be coming out right after this one. That's going over all the Hilton honors cards. So look for that video in the future, and soon as that video does post, there will definitely be a link that's added in the description.

The next status level that you're going to be able to earn is going to be the gold status. Now this is where you're going to really start getting some of the benefits that come with this program right now. In order to earn the status, you need to stay 20 nights or you'd have to earn 37-500 base points to get the gold status, and that's going to be within a single calendar year.

Now again, this is a half of what it was in years prior, where you'd have to do 75 000 base points in a calendar year or 40 nights in a calendar year. So this gold level--you're able to get continental breakfast for you and a guest now. Right now they are doing temporary now. Right now they are giving temporary dining credits in us resorts, just because there's some restrictions along dining in the U.S., but we do expect that to change in the near future.

You are able to also get space available room upgrades. Now. These are just going to be two premium rooms, so you might have a nicer view. You may. You may be on a nicer floor, but you're not going to go from a standard room to like a suite. With this level and with gold status, you're able to get $80 bonus on your base points earned every single stay.

Hilton Hotels Earn 10 Points For Every Single Dollar That You Spend

So that's going to bring you, on your stays, to earning 10 points for every single dollar to 18 points for every single dollar. So with those Hilton-branded hotels, you're going to get about $10 and a half percent back for every single dollar that you spend. That's going end up equating to about 10 and a half percent for every single dollar that you're spending at the Hilton properties.

Now, with the gold status, there's a lot more options in order for you to be able to achieve this, other than just with your stays at Hilton properties. The U.S. Express card is going to give you gold status as well as many otherperks that come with it. We've made a couple videos about this credit card so you can look at any one of the links that's down below, and the Hilton honor surpass card. with american express. That one is going to give you gold status.

The Business Version of This Car is $9.9

It actually comes with a $9.9 annual fee after your first year. First, that annual fee is waived and then the business version of this car. It's $9.9 and that annual fee isn't waived on the first year.

But again we're going to have a video coming out on these american Express Hilton honors cards, so just look for that video now.

The highest level for the Hilton honor status is diamond status, so you're able to achieve the status right now (with 30 nights or with 60 000 base points), and again last year it was twice this amount so you'd have to do. You'd have to do 60 nights or 120 000 bonus points.

So with the diamond status, you're able to get space available room upgrades, but with this you're able to go into suite level rooms like a junior suite, standard suite, or a one bedroom suite. The highest level that you'd be able to upgrade into is a one bedroom suite.

You're able to get exclusive lounge access, and this is going to be for you and one of your guests. Now, if you have a family of like four or six, and all of you aren't going to be able to get access into this lounge.

Get Your Best Chances of Getting an Upgrade

But we've heard of people that have been employees, you know, make exceptions when it comes to these space-available room upgrades. We've heard of a lot of people having issues, not being able to get upgraded. There's always some things that you can do to hopefully get your best odds of getting an upgrade. The first is obviously to ask a lot of people. They go check-in, they are just waiting to get assigned their room, and they expect theperks to be given to them, and a lot of times you have to ask, say, "hey, I'm a diamond member.".

I should be eligible for an upgrade. The next thing is to check back throughout your stay. If you're checking in on a Friday night and you're planning on staying there till you know Wednesday or Thursday, chances are Friday, Saturday, and up, you know, really busy hotel. There might not be an upgrade for you. those rooms might already be booked, but on sunday, or monday, you know, when a lot of people have checked out, going back and checking, seeing if there is an upgrade, you might have a better chance of actually getting that upgrade.

Now I've heard of a lot of people that have had good luck with doing this, but you have to make sure that you're not coming off too assertive with this. But actually checking in real time, seeing exactly what rooms are available at that resort, and if you see that there's a one bedroom available and you're not getting that upgrades mentioned, say, Hey, actually, I just noticed that this is available. I think I'm eligible for this upgrade, and that brings me to the last step for being able to get the upgrade. So make sure that you're being nice. You know so many people.

In any type of customer service type of job, you get a lot of people that you know just aren't happy. They might be upset and the person that they take it out is the person at the front. So if you're the person that's nice, real, friendly, your chances of getting the upgrade might even increase just a little more.

Get 48 Hours Guaranteed Rooms

You are able to get 48 hours guaranteed rooms, so if you're somebody that normally books hotels very late, just as long as you're doing it 48 hours advance, you should be able to get this guarantee now. I have heard of some people that they're trying to book a room 48 hours right before a really large convention in a, a, you know, huge metropolitan area, and it's just completely packed, completely full. They just can't magically make rooms appear. They're not harry potter, but for just some busier areas and normal travel times. then typically this is going to work. You're going to be able to get that last minute booking, no matter what.

Diamond Status Gifting - You're able to Gift Gold Status After 60 Nights

You're also able to get elite status gifting, so this has to be done by you actually earning the status. After 60 nights in any calendar year, you're able to give gold status to somebody else. So essentially, after normal times, once you earn a diamond status with those 60 nights, you're able to gift gold status to somebody and then after a hundred nights stay, you're able to gift a diamond status to somebody.

So that's actually going to be upgrading it to the person that you gifted the gold to. So you can't gift gold to somebody and then after 100 nights gift, the diamond status is somebody else. It's only one gift that you're able to give to somebody, but after 100 nights diamond status, you definitely should be able to -uh, you definitely should be able to gift it to somebody. Now, with diamond status, you're able to get 100% bonus on the points that you earn.

Hilton Honors Program Overview

So there's going to be 20 points for all your Hilton brands. So if you want to put that into like a cash back, it ends up being about $12 cash back for every single dollar that you spend at a Hilton property. 

Now you're actually able to earn this diamond status with the Hilton honors american express aspiration card. So that card has a $450 annual fee. And again, look for the video that's coming on all of these Hilton honors cards.
